This Module project designed to uncover the factors which have a relationship with the trajectory of resilience after TBI over time. The skill-sets which underlie resilience are reflective of a process of learning which grows out of traumatic experiences. Investigation into the longitudinal pattern of resilience emergence after injury enables the timely delivery of intervention services. Identification of the variables most closely related to resilience after TBI will allow for the development of targeted services for at-risk populations. Identification of factors associated with increases and decreases in resiliency over time will aid in targeting interventions towards specific TBI survivors as well as towards altering modifiable characteristics to improve resilience post-injury. A battery of measures will be administered at 3, 6, and 12 months post injury on 180 newly injured individuals. These interviews will include the 25-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and the DRS, PART-O Social Subscale, PHQ-9, GAD-7, and the SWLS. Linear mixed effects models will be used to analyze trajectories of resilience over time.
