Description
Adaptive Golf Foundation of America (AGFA) The Adaptive Golf Foundation (intially founded as Florida Adaptive Golf) began on the basis of one question, "Will I ever play golf again?" That question was asked of Paul B. Goodlander, PTA, in 1998 by a Mr. Charles "Bus" Crosley after a rehab session. Charles had suffered a CVA (stroke) and was concerned that he would never play his favorite sport again. This is when Paul and a small group of devoted golfers began hosting weekly golf instructional programs to enhance the physical and mental rehabilitation process for participants with injuries and disabilities.
Since 1998, we have scheduled an adaptive golf instructional program every week for community participants. "We are the only program of its kind, and extremely proud to have the longest running, most consistent adaptive golf program in the country, we are not re-inventing the game of golf, but modifying how the game is taught, learned, and played via some form of modified technique to the golf swing and/or equipment used, so regardless of disability, anyone can learn to play and enjoy the benefits of the game of a lifetime."
