Stephanie Stephanie Percival, M.A.,is the Director of Patient and Family Services. Stephanie received her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Denver and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. Stephanie has worked in the Rehabilitation/Disability Management field for the past 21 years. Stephanie joined Craig Hospital in 2001 as a counselor in the Patient and Family Services Department and is currently the Director of both the inpatient and out patient counseling departments. Stephanie is an active member of the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals.
Melissa Abate

Melissa Abate, LMSW, came to Craig in 2005 on the inpatient TBI team. Melissa earned her BA in English, Philosophy and minor in Classical Languages at St Anselm College and her MSW at Yeshiva University. She has been active in post graduate studies in family systems. Melissa is a member of NASW and the CO Brain Injury Collaborative. Melissa has received a Faculty Award at Yeshiva University and has presented on numerous TBI topics.

Nichola Abeyta, Med, started at Craig Hospital in 1989. She has a Master’s degree in Education and BA in Social Work. Niki is a member of the Spinal Cord Injury Program Committee and Complementary and Alternative Medicine committee. She represents Craig Hospital Patient and Family Services as a lead clinician for a multi-year, multi-facility study on SCI outcomes. Niki has co- authored 2 published study articles.

Pamela K. Beightol

Pamela K. Beightol, MA, CRC, education includes Bachelors of Social Work from Colorado State University and Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from University of Northern Colorado. She is Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Pam started working at Craig Hospital in 1991. She worked with both Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Teams until 1999. She then transitioned to Outpatient Patient and Family Services until 2009 when she returned to Inpatient Patient and Family Services.

Linda Bourett-Rodriguez, MA, came to Craig in 1980 through the Neuro Trauma unit at Swedish Medical Center and transitioned to the inpatient TBI team in 1982. Linda earned her Bachelors of Science in 1976 and Masters of Arts-Psychology, Counseling and Guidance in 1981 at the University of Northern Colorado. Linda has presented on funding, discharge planning and family issues related to TBI rehabilitation. She co-authored an article in SAIL- Self Advocacy for Independent Life through the Brain Injury Association of Colorado.
Kent Hamstra

Kent Hamstra MA, received his training and degree in Psychology from Hastings College in 1985 and Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from University of Iowa in 1986. He has been a member of the Craig Hospital inpatient TBI clinical team since 1987. Kent has been involved with multiple projects involving TBI. He is a member of the Craig Hospital TBI Supervisors Group.

Melissa Abate Alexandria Rodenbeek, “Alex” joined Craig Hospital in 2013, and works on one of Craig’s inpatient spinal cord injury teams.  A native of Kansas, Alex graduated with honors with  Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Washburn University in Topeka, KS.  As an undergraduate Alex played tennis on scholarship.  Alex has worked in the field of care management in rehabilitation for nine years, and came from Kansas City to work at Craig
Avery La Fleur Avery La Fleur, MSW, has been a part of the Craig Hospital family since 2004. After completing his undergraduate degrees at Wartburg College in Waverly, Ia., he moved to Colorado and worked in corrections. After several years working in corrections Avery went on to get his Masters degree in Social Work, at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work, Denver, Co.; where his emphasis was in Medical Social Work as well as Individual, Family, and Group Counseling. He is also a guest professor for the University of Phoenix. Avery provides educational classes at Craig Hospital in the areas of Sexuality and Romance, Discharge Planning, and Social Skills.
Lesley Phelan

Lesley Phelan, MSSW, has been a part of Craig Hospital since 2009. She completed her undergraduate studies in Studio Art at Texas Tech University graduating with Honors and went on to work in fundraising at Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, TX. After several years in fundraising, Lesley pursued her Masters of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas-Arlington where she graduated with an emphasis in Direct Practice in Individual, Family, and Group Counseling. Lesley’s post graduate work includes emergency mental health services. She now provides counseling at Craig Hospital to patients and families who have both brain injuries and/or spinal cord injuries.

Carol E. Winneinger Carol E. Wineinger, MA, LPC, joined Craig Hospital in 2006, and works with inpatients who have spinal cord injuries and/or combination brain and spinal cord injuries. Carol’s education includes a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska, and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Colorado, and an active member of The Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals.
