Interventions and Surgical Procedures
Evaluation of longitudinal outcomes of surgery for spinal cord myelopathies to identify:
- the immediate effectiveness of spinal cord untethering and expansion duraplasty with or without cyst shunting in arresting progressive post-traumatic myelopathies;
- the long-term post-surgical neurological outcomes for people undergoing cyst shunting and/or untethering procedures;
- if the degree of post-surgical neurological improvement or persistent deterioration can be predicted by any of the following: a) extent of tethering; b) size of cyst; c) anatomical integrity of the spinal column; d) inability to adequately untether the spinal cord or restore the anatomical integrity of the spinal column' and
- the expected time to recurrence of neurological deterioration following surgical management of progressive post-traumatic myelopathies.
